Do you know what email marketing is?

One of the biggest set backs of the “Free” blogging platform is the inability to add an auto responder to your blog.

No disrespect to the free platforms because I started onWordPress.com when I first got into blogging. I didn’t have a budget and I was willing to use the limitation I had to build my business. It wasn’t until I got banned from the site and lost all my traffic that I realized the downfall of having a “Free” blog site.

The blessing of creating and having is your own blog is that you can never get kicked off/banned and you can customize the look and feel to what you want to represent.

Email Marketing is a very powerful tool to have on your blog. It gives you the ability to stay in contact with your fan. You will notice that I have 2 auto-responders on this blog post. The one on the right top is a download for a free book. One of my favorites actually. The other is at the end of this post and that is for getting signed up to receive my blog updates.

So people have at least 2 options to opt in to my mailing list.

Today I share some insight on the importance of email marketing. Enjoy.

What Email Marketing  Do I Recommend?

There are a lot of auto responders out there for email marketing. The two I am going to recommend is because I have used them. I will mention a few others but I have never used them. Do some research and find which email marketing tool is right for your needs.

• Aweber – my number one favorite. Have been using it for years. I love the email capture forms and the ease of this. It may take a few minutes to learn but there are some great tutorials about this system. As an affiliate they allow multiple email share forms. Which means your affiliate gets the email address and so do you!
• Icontact – used this in the very beginning of my blogging career. Amazing social media integration and super easy to use.
• Constant Contact
• MailChimp

Prices will vary with each email marketing system. Find the one that fits your budget and your needs.

Suggestions for how to use email marketing?

Use it for reminders, competitions, sweepstakes, give a ways, free offers, and so much more. The list really is endless for what you can use email marketing for. But it is one of the requirements for any of my blogging students. I tell them that it is the fastest way to make money with your blog.

MLM Hot Topic: How to Fail Online

Everyone wants to know how to succeed online, but how does one fail online?

My story would be one of many small failures online. It began about 6 years ago. I began to fail online when I was conflicted with what old school teachings I was getting from my leaders inside my mlm.

Sitting in the training we were taught… “This is what works. Follow this system for proven success.”

So my question became, how do I find the right people to talk to?

Some of the answers were, “Go Talk to Rich People” or “Go to the Mall and talk to all the employees”, or “Just talk to anyone within 5 ft of you”.

But what about online marketing?

I was told that it was a fad. (this was only 6 years ago!!!) No one was going to use the internet to build a business. But I was determined to figure out this thing called online marketing with attraction marketing.

If you are online you need to have a capture page and an offer. Send traffic to an offer and get people to sign up. The ultimate power is in your list. This is the #1 piece to your puzzle. If you are not working to build an email list you could be seriously hurting your business. Use your list to email your prospects, or even do follow up.

Email is a powerful way to stay in front of your audience and if done right you become a permission based marketer. This means that people are signing up to your lists know that they are going to get information and possibly be sold something also. I recommend Aweber as my preferred choice for auto-responders.

Heck, I get email’s from Chili’s every 3 days offering me a free dessert or appetizer. I joined their list because I saw value in the offer. Now do I go to Chili’s all the time? Nope but it is nice to know that I have this. It is a great way to make me a return customer.

That is what you want to achieve with your list. Follow up and make them a return customer. They can even be a returning customer to your blog. Create value and information that they need and fans will be flocking to return to your blog.

How Much Does Reliv Cost?

I really love this question and the reason why is because it is the wrong question to be asking.

The real question is what is your health worth to you? How much does it cost you to be sick or your children to be sick?

We are in a place where we rely on prescription drugs and over the counter meds to help us feel better. But they do little more than to mask the real problem.

What is the real problem. We lack is a strong immune system. If you do some research you will find that almost all diseases, colds, and such are autoimmune problems. It means your immune system is crashing and you are giving way for infection, disease, and more to invade your body and reside there. You are actually allowing yourself to get sick. Did you know that stress can weaken your immune system also?

If we were to go on the very low level of the cost of being sick it would look like this:

Missed Work: $7.25 (minimum wage) $58 before taxes

Cold medicine: $25 – figure you are getting at least 2 of something, one for day, one for night and maybe some tissues.

Doctor vistit: $30 co-pay or more if you don’t have insurance

Stress on Family: ???

Just right there… you have lost over $100 in just one day of being sick. What happens if you are out of more than one day? Weeks or even months?

What Does Reliv Cost?

What is your health worth to you? How much are you willing to spend a day to be healthy?

Is $2 too much? How about $3?

What do you pay for a cup of coffee or even a soda?

At what point are you going to look at the benefits of being healthy and see the value there?

I would rather pay a couple of bucks a month to stay healthy, then risk the cost of getting sick.

How to Add Video to Your Blog

Have you been wanting to add video to your blog but just not quiet sure how to do it?

A few of you may be thinking… I have to get in front of a camera?!?! There is no way that is going to happen.

So what if there was a way to do video and not be in the picture?

A few quick resources you have access to.

• Mac users – Screenflow – free and comes with your system.
• PC users – Jing – Free download that will allow you to capture images and video on your computer screen. There is a 5 minute limit but trust me when I say you can share a lot in 5 minutes.
• If you are looking for a more advanced screen sharing and editing software, there isCamtasia. This is available for both PC and Mac users.
• The last option is to use Google Hangouts on Air which will record your screen also. Caution- It will share everything and you have limited editing with YouTube editor. You can download the video and edit but watch for file size depending on length of recording.

For those of you wanting to get in front of the camera, any camera will do. Use your smart phone, video camera, computer camera, or Flip UltraHD Video Camera. I use all of them depending on what I am doing and where I am at.

As someone that is in the MLM industry I thought this would be a great MLM Hot Topic to talk about today.

When I was first exposed to my networking opportunity I was went in with what I thought were eyes wide open. The presentation I went to was really simple. I heard about the health stories and got to see the compensation plan in action. I was pretty excited about what could happen in the MLM industry.

I guess what no one really told me was… “You might not make a dime in this industry.”

The expectation piece was missing. Yes, I made money when I first started. I did really well until I ran out of my hot and warm market and had to look for other ways to talk to people.

I also felt like I had no value. My team was asking me how to build their business and I didn’t have a solution for them. I didn’t know any marketing methods besides the ones I was getting from my upline, which was go out and talk to people?

There was a prospecting company that I was introduced to, can’t remember the name, but their big thing was sizzle cards. Go out and plaster sizzle cards all over the place. This was great but the leads from this were more like people looking for a job than a MLM opportunity. They didn’t want to invest money, they just wanted it handed to them. I really didn’t like this sizzle card method.

So setting expectation I believe is a must for those that truly want to succeed in their MLM business. Be upfront and don’t play into the hype…

Success for many has a different definition for each of us. As a network marketer success maybe making a $100 bucks a month or more. Success could be firing your boss. Success could even be sharing or helping someone. What ever your definition, one of the biggest struggles in learning how to get there.

Some of us, including myself, may have had success in the beginning but were unable to maintain. Some continued to have success but now have a ceiling the can’t breakthrough. Other are still trying to figure out how to achieve success. A very select few continue to build on their success.

Like this picture, success takes a team and if you are not building a team or surrounding yourself with a team, you could be hurting your success. Don’t try to be the lone wolf and do it yourself. Tap into a success system to help you on your way.

So is Success Easy or Hard?

I guess it all depends on your point of view.

Do you have goals set that are S.M.A.R.T? Do you apply daily action to achieve your goals? Do you continue even when it looks hard and your frustrated?

I think your mindset has a lot to do with your success. If you don’t believe you can have success you won’t. If you have limiting beliefs of what you can accomplish you may struggle.

For me every day is a success. Waking up is a success! Creating a blog post today is a success! Success doesn’t have to be huge things. It just has to be something you consider a success. The first time I picked up the phone and called a lead, that was a huge success. The first time I got a comment on my blog… Success!

If you are just getting into creating your blog or have been at it for a while but feel like you are stumbling around because of the lingo…

You want to find someone that speaks blog.

My first experience with blogging had me guessing. I had no idea how to install a header or footer. What is the difference between a page and a post. Did tags matter? What the heck was a category? How did you create a custom menu?

AWWWWWW it just seemed overwhelming and the question I had were never ending!

So of course I Googled Blog Help… not much there….

Then I was off to YouTube… this is were I got a lot of my questions answered that I couldn’t get from the “guru’s”.  Still stumbled around a bit but with persistence I think I have most of it figured out. Now I am sure that I am still missing some information but right now I am feeling good about what I do know.

A:  Page is used for static information.  Information that isn’t going to change. Examples are your “About You” page, “Contact Us” page, or even “Direction Page”.  Post is what you update daily. You add posts to your blog. Like this post right now that you are reading. These are your news updates as I call them.

Value Leadership – What Is It?

Over the past couple of months the term value leadership keeps coming up. What does it mean to be a value leader?

In most of my research I have come across value leadership in the corporate business world. The articles are mainly about the values of the leaders and having a code of ethics. They also talk about giving value and being transparent.

So then I began to wonder if you can do value leadership with network marketing. Could you provide value and attract people to you that want to do a business? Is that even possible?

Adding Value Leadership

Back in April I had the opportunity to attend a 4-day weekend “Done for You Video Marketing” event. I paid about $2,000 to learn how to build my brand and use video marketing to generate leads for my business.

What was interesting to learn was the biggest stumbling block most of us had was mindset. Getting over our fear of being in front of the camera. We also learned how to research our targeted audience and brainstorm. Sometimes we are so close to our business that we don’t always see the obvious.

One of the biggest breakthroughs for me was the term value leadership. Jessica Brace my mentor kept saying this over and over again. What Jessica was telling me was, it is not about you, it is about them. Answer their questions. Prove yourself to be a value resource.

No one knows your business better than you do. So find out the most common question and answer them. Let people know that you know your stuff and that you are here for them. Begin to provide value. Be of gratitude and give.

So I learned the power of adding value leadership to my network marketing opportunity. I began sharing what Jessica taught me to my fans, clients, and downline. I invested more into my education so that I can provide more value to my team.
