For me I found this difficult. I didn’t want to come across as salesy and shied away from this approach. I know you have met them… the pushy network marketer… the one that is over the top and is giving this industry a bad rap.

Blog Help: Choosing a Domain

Does the thought of choosing the WRONG domain keep your from creating your blog?

If it makes you feel better I have had about 5 different domain names and blogs. Heck I even have friends that collect domains just for fun. They have an idea, go see if the domain is available and buy it. Crazy but true.

I had a domain for Metabolic Syndrome Family… Don’t ask… sounded great… and then, not so much. I had one for healthy living… I discovered I am not extremely passionate about writing about eating healthy. I would rather just live the life style. I had one for Mentor and Support… Good concept but I just didn’t have focus. And the list could go on but I won’t bore you with those details.

So here is the thing… Choose your domain and just run with it. I always recommend 1 year of hosting so that if you do change your mind you are not locked into your domain.

Another thing… you can always redirect your old blog to your new blog.

Chef Katrina’s 90 Day Challenge Follow Up

Can you survive a 90 day challenge? I wasn’t sure I even knew what it was.

There are some leaders out there that talk about a 90 day challenge. They would claim that at the end of 90 days your business would change. It was almost like they reveal some big secret during the 90 challenge.

Well, I will tell you something that the secret that most of us don’t know about. A 90 day challenge is about consistency. It is about setting goals and achieveing them. It is about committing to do something for 90 days and actually doing it.

I thought I had to be part of a large group, in order to do a 90 day challenge. I thought I needed to have a support team and a leader to follow… all hog wash!

It doesn’t matter if you join a 90 day challenge with a group or just decided to do one yourself. Success will happen if you commit.

Back on June 1, 2013 I decided to do a 30 day self challenge. I committed to writing a blog post a day and doing a video a day. The only person holding myself accountable was myself… or so I thought. This is the video of my commitment to my challenge.

What ended up happening was that by day 25 I extended my challenge from 30 days to 90 days. And I discovered that I had fans that were watching me to see if I would stay committed to my challenge.

This motivated me like nothing else. I knew that if I followed my marketing training that I was receiving from Elite Marketing Pro I would begin to make money and generate more leads.

My 90 Day Challenge Follow Up…

So I ended my challenge on August 31, 2013, it went a few days past 90…

What happened during this challenge?

Even taking time off for vacation and family reunions I was still able to stick with my challenge.

This 90 day challenge really did challenge me. I had to get uncomfortable and do things that I never thought I would do.

I struggled with blogging before this challenge. I didn’t always know what to write, what to say, and really how to help others. But the mindset change that took place is something I can’t begin to describe. I had to release all doubts and just believe that my efforts would pay off.

I discovered that if I did this challenge with my MLM – I would have a completely different business.

I discovered that, I’m the only thing holding myself back.

I discovered that even though I did this challenge on my own, I had tons of support. Family and friends were watching and cheering me on. I learned that everyone watches… they want to see that commitment.

After doing this challenge I recommend it for anyone stuck in their business. This could be the boost you need.

Blog Help: Email Marketing

Do you know what email marketing is?

One of the biggest set backs of the “Free” blogging platform is the inability to add an auto responder to your blog.

No disrespect to the free platforms because I started onWordPress.com when I first got into blogging. I didn’t have a budget and I was willing to use the limitation I had to build my business. It wasn’t until I got banned from the site and lost all my traffic that I realized the downfall of having a “Free” blog site.

The blessing of creating and having is your own blog is that you can never get kicked off/banned and you can customize the look and feel to what you want to represent.

Email Marketing is a very powerful tool to have on your blog. It gives you the ability to stay in contact with your fan. You will notice that I have 2 auto-responders on this blog post. The one on the right top is a download for a free book. One of my favorites actually. The other is at the end of this post and that is for getting signed up to receive my blog updates.

So people have at least 2 options to opt in to my mailing list.

Today I share some insight on the importance of email marketing. Enjoy.

What Email Marketing  Do I Recommend?

There are a lot of auto responders out there for email marketing. The two I am going to recommend is because I have used them. I will mention a few others but I have never used them. Do some research and find which email marketing tool is right for your needs.

• Aweber – my number one favorite. Have been using it for years. I love the email capture forms and the ease of this. It may take a few minutes to learn but there are some great tutorials about this system. As an affiliate they allow multiple email share forms. Which means your affiliate gets the email address and so do you!
• Icontact – used this in the very beginning of my blogging career. Amazing social media integration and super easy to use.
• Constant Contact
• MailChimp

Prices will vary with each email marketing system. Find the one that fits your budget and your needs.

Suggestions for how to use email marketing?

Use it for reminders, competitions, sweepstakes, give a ways, free offers, and so much more. The list really is endless for what you can use email marketing for. But it is one of the requirements for any of my blogging students. I tell them that it is the fastest way to make money with your blog.
